Dowd Hardware 10-Year Limited Warranty

We’re committed to delivering quality hardware you can rely on — which is why all eligible products come with a 10-Year Limited Warranty.
1. Scope of Coverage
This warranty covers defects in materials, manufacturing, or design that occur under normal use and proper installation for a period of ten (10) years from the date of original purchase.
If a product is found to be defective during this period, Dowd Hardware will, at its discretion, repair, replace, or refund the item.
2. What the Warranty Covers
Manufacturing and material defects
Structural faults or failures under normal use
Faulty welds, bolts, or fittings (on applicable products)
This warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is valid only for products purchased directly from dowdhardware.com.au or through an authorised Dowd Hardware distributor.
3. What the Warranty Does Not Cover
This warranty does not cover:
Damage resulting from misuse, improper installation, neglect, modification, or accident
Normal wear and tear or cosmetic damage
Damage caused by environmental conditions, weather, or other external factors
Products used beyond their intended purpose or design limits
Any indirect or consequential loss, including labour, installation, or removal costs
4. How to Make a Warranty Claim
To lodge a warranty claim:
Email: Send proof of purchase, a description of the defect, and clear photos to info@dowdhardware.com.au
Assessment: We may request that the item be returned for inspection or further evaluation
Resolution: If the claim is approved, we will repair, replace, or refund the item at Dowd Hardware’s discretion
Claims should be made within 60 days of discovering the issue.
5. Limitations of Liability
Dowd Hardware’s liability is strictly limited to the value of the defective product.
We are not responsible for labour costs, removal or reinstallation expenses, or any indirect or consequential damages.
This approach aligns with leading Australian hardware warranty standards.
6. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
7. Governing Law
This warranty is governed by the laws of Australia, and all claims or disputes will be resolved in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
